The Monroe and Sultan Libraries are sponsoring a fun “Art Inspired by Libraries” contest for teens grades 6-12

Libraries are places of inspiration, providing information and entertainment as well as the opportunity to pursue education, self- improvement, creative quests and new knowledge. Now through October 31 teens are encouraged to submit a piece of hand-crafted art to decorate the library and possibly win a prize!

The theme of this year’s contest is “Art Inspired by Libraries”. Libraries come to us in many ways digital, internet, bookmobile, storytelling, CDs & DVD, archives and of course the pleasure of walking into your favorite library.

Here is how to enter the “Art Inspired by Libraries” contest for teens grades 6-12

  • Entries must be two-dimensional and displayed on 8.5×11 paper.
  • Entries must be submitted to the Monroe or Sultan Libraries by October 31 and must include your name, contact information, and a signed parental permission form available at the library or print a copy from here 2015 TEEN ART form
  • All art will be displayed at the Sultan and Monroe Libraries during the month of November and then returned to the artists.
  • Four winners at each library will receive a $25 gift card to a local book store.
  • For teens grades 6-12.

We are proud to say that the Sky Valley Arts Council will be participating with the libraries this year by providing a contest judge – Sky Valley Arts Council Vice President, Kevin Pettelle.

We look forward to viewing the art displayed in the libraries during the month of November.

Please refer all your questions to the Sultan or Monroe Library where the art will be submitted.
