This year, 2018, we are working to open the Startup Event Center to the community – our plan is to have an occupancy certificate in August. We have a few big items on our list and are working on grants and donations to complete – namely ‘west door ramp for disabled entry and large items’, ‘electrical update in main gym’, ‘drywall and finish the remodeled lunchroom/kitchen/restrooms area’ .
We also have many smaller items on our punch list… so, every SATURDAY from now until we open we have volunteers working in the building. If you would like to join other volunteers on any Saturday simply stop by the event center and see what is needed… we have a long punch list to complete!
Once the center is open the community will have a venue with — approximately 3500 sq ft Main Floor/gym with a raised 700 sq ft Stage and a seating Gallery, a 600 sq ft ‘Lunchroom’ meeting space, indoor restrooms , a prep kitchen, a park setting with courts, outdoor restrooms and event parking. The spaces will be available for rent to individuals and organizations; for example the event center can be a place to host family events, organizations could use the main room for a small trade shows and smaller community activities and eventually art classes will be held in the ‘lunchroom’.
