This Saturday May 9th is the first of the monthly Open Air Markets in Historic Skykomish. It’s looking to be a great weather day for the market set up at Depot Park along Railroad Avenue from 11 am to 3 pm. A variety of handcrafted items from local artisans will be on display including turned wooded bowls, needle arts, jewelry, plants, garden art…and a visit to the market to browse in the beautiful setting sounds like a perfect time to spend with mom!
The Open Air Market dates for the balance of the year include June 13, July 11, August 8 and September 12. Everyone welcome and thank you for supporting our local communities.
While in Skykomish take a look around the town. There is a nice informative sign with details about the nearby Iron Goat Trail if you are interested in continuing up Highway 2. There are a few restaurants in town for a nice lunch/afternoon break, and you might also enjoy a visit to the Great Northern & Cascade Railway Rides & Exhibits just across the tracks . This is an interesting restoration of the original depot and look into railroad history. Rides on the small-scale train are very popular. Open 10 am to 4 pm.
Mark your calendar for June activities in the valley:
